Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard Release Track To Kick Off The Homeless World Cup

Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard have released a track for the upcoming Homeless World Cup. It was commissioned by actor Michael Sheen to be the official song of the annual charity football tournament which takes place this summer in Wales, where both the band and the The Damned United actor are from.

Sheen asked for a “singalong party anthem […] full of positivity and optimism, in the same vein as Slade, T. Rex and Wizzard, to reflect the real joyfulness that is found at a Homeless World Cup tournament. And the boys certainly delivered with ‘Daffodil Hill’.” And that they did.

The Cardiff collective’s love for the likes of Cream, John Lennon and Supertramp, as well as mid-70s glam rock shines through clearly as the swung blue rock song is full of soaring riffs and chanting vocals that make his the perfect uplifting track for such a great cause.

Vocalist and guitarist Tom Rees said “Being asked to be involved in the Homeless World Cup was a tremendous honour, as well as a real opportunity to contribute to what the tournament stands for in helping people affected by homelessness. The invitation to be involved has a particular significance, especially with Cardiff facing the crisis that it currently is with homelessness. I’m delighted to be a part of an effort to inspire solutions, positivity and support to those who need it most.”

Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard will perform and Neighbourhood Festival on Saturday 12th October – grab your tickets here!
