Tessa Violet Reveals New Alt Pop Single

Rising singer-songwriter Tessa Violet has just released her latest single ‘Games’; a mellow R&B track fuelled with anthemic production. It premiered on The Fader last night, although fans have been eagerly presaving it for days, desperate to be the first to hear it.

Its off-beat, bass-driven verses build to a passionate pop chorus which have lead to comparisons to Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’ and Ingrid Michaelson’s ‘It Doesn’t Have To Make Sense’, as well as Taylor Swift’s latest sound.

Violet told The Fader that the song “is about the frustration and madness of trying to get the truth out of someone while they boldly tell you nothing’s wrong at all” and “being treated like you’re paranoid by the person you’re dating, all the while they’re playing the field.”

‘Games’ follows on from her Bad Ideas (Act One) EP, released in July. It features her most recent innovative alternative pop hits: ‘Crush’, Bad Ideas’ and ‘I Like (the idea of) You’. Check out the latest from the future sensation below and get a taste of what could be the beginning of Act Two
