The Sherlocks Q&A

Introduce yourselves –  tell us about you, your background, music and formation.

Comprising two pairs of brothers (vocalist/guitarist Kiaran Crook and drummer Brandon Crook; bassist Andy Davidson and guitarist Josh Davidson), we are an indie rock quartet called The Sherlocks. We formed in a small village called Bolton on Dearne playing football together before being a band. We share a common interest in the same type of music, we started playing our instruments around a similar time a couple of years before meeting each other.

What’s your favourite thing to do in Manchester or where do you aim for when visiting?

We love to play snooker before a show and have a few pints at local bars it chills us out.

Which other artists are you going to try and check out at NBHD?

We’re definitely gunna check out Miles Kane and The Twang, hopefully we’ll catch a few more.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Would be cool to write a song with Kelly Jones from Stereophonics. I recon it would be an anthem.

Can you remember the first song you wrote when you were young? What was it called?

It was called ‘Broken Hearted’, was probably about 14 at the time haha.

If you could have a meal with three musicians, dead or alive, who would it be?

Lucy Meggitt, Martin Rycroft and Ria Scott

Tell us a story from your time on the road…

We had a night out on the beers. At the end of the night once Andy had gone to sleep in his bunk on the tour bus…. me (Kiaran) & Josh our the electric heater in his bunk and closed the curtains. It was there for a good 15 minutes till he woke up in a sweat confused.

What can people expect from your NBHD set?

Old classics and maybe a few new songs. Certainly a passionate rock n roll show! We can’t wait for it!!

Plans for the rest of the year?

Release new music, couple more festivals, the release the album and go on tour for a few month. Finish of writing album 3!
